Picture standing in the mosh pit of a blaring music festival, waving aimlessly as you try and find your fellow punter or trying to communicate your destination when you have no bearing of where you are or what the street name is. Sound familiar? Facebook’s latest feature is now making it easier to find your friends wherever you are, keeping true to their social-gathering nature.

Today, the platform is adding a new live location feature that expands on the user’s ability share their current location with a friend, by keeping a live tracking dot on them for up to an hour while they venture to the meeting point – kind of like a human Uber-tracker. You can also get a time estimate of how long the journey will take.

“Live Location is super helpful when trying to coordinate with friends, telling people how close you are when you’re on your way to an appointment or even sharing where you are with your roommate when you’re on your way home at night,” Feature’s Product Manager, Selena Wang has said of the new development.

Facebook is rolling this feature out globally on both iOS and Android devices and you can let more than one person know at a time.
