This Seven-Year-Old’s Letter to Google’s CEO Proves the Power of Dreams

Oh, to be young again.

What did you want to be when you grew up? As a kid, daydreams of becoming an astronaut (like this kid who actually grew up to be one) or a time traveller most likely consumed your thoughts. Now, as an actual ‘functioning’ adult, dreams mainly consist of finding an extra dumpling in your Deliveroo bag or narrowly beating a parking officer to your illegally parked car.

We can all time a leaf out of seven-year-old Chloe Bridgewater’s book – a big dreamer from Hereford in UK – who’s hatched a little dream of working at the bean-bag heavy offices of Google. Instead of waiting for adulthood to quash her idealism, Chloe, along with the help of her father Andy, who recounted the tale on his LinkedIn profile, went straight to the source and put her name forward for a future position.

Here is the adorable #girlboss letter Chloe wrote to ‘google boss’, CEO Sundar Pichai:

And proving the power of taking small, seven-year-old sized steps towards achieving your goals, Chloe received an enthusiastic response from her future mentor:

“I look forward to receiving your job application when you are finished with school!” the CEO signed off.

See? Ask and you shall receive.
