Instagram’s Latest Feature is Like a Detox for Your Feed

Perfect for anyone who's tired of serial posters clogging up your scroll.

When it comes to change, Instagram is certain it’s a good thing, judging by the updates it unveils. Today, the social-media giant launched a new feature that will allow users to share up to 10 photos or videos in a single post, with a display carousel that will let you swipe across to see the images. Gone are the days when you got only one shot – quite literally – to share that perfect moment with your online companions. This added element is sure to be a popular addition, much like the recent introduction of the ephemeral (and Snap-like) Instagram Stories.

“With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember,” the Instagram blog explains.

It’s time to farewell the days when your entire scroll-down feed was bombarded with your bestie’s entire trip to Europe – croissants, cute Airbnbs and all – now it’s a case of choose-your-own-adventure when it comes to how much of their holiday to see (or not see, depending on how prolific a poster they are).

Once you’ve updated to the latest version of the app, upon uploading your latest food-inspo post, you will see a new icon that will allow you to select multiple items. Once chosen, you can change the order they appear in, edit them individually or choose to blanket filter the entire series with your favourite sepia tone. Time to get posting!
