MBFWA: Quick Five

We caught up with the cool kids on day one of fashion week

Dasha Gold, founder/editor-in-chief of TheTrendSpotter.net

Wearing a Godwin Charli coat, Anna Quan pants, a Third Form skirt as a top, a Lemon chocker, Artelier ring, Nick Campbell glasses, French Connection hat and Furla bag

Is this your first fashion week?
It’s my third or fouth I think!

So you’re a professional now, what are your tips for first timers?
Drink lots of water, I always forget! And pack snacks, I need to eat every 20 minutes. Have all the hashtags you need for Instagram copied so they’re ready to paste and go. Also, I write down my name and who my outfit was by in notepad so I can just show it to photographers instead of telling them each time.

We’re celebrating 20 years of MBFWA this year, what’s been your favourite memory?
Meeting my friends for the first time, so Jess Gomes and Nicole Trunfio and just running around and having fun.

Byron Spencer, blogger

Who are you most excited to see this week?
Definitely Romance Was Born!

Kaitlyn Ham, Founder of ModernLegacy.com.au

Wearing Camilla & Marc coat, Nicholas pants and top, Stella McCartney loafers, AM eyewear, and carrying an Alexander Wang iPad case.

Do you dress for comfort or creativity for fashion week?
I’d say comfort first, and sticking to my personal style always. But then dialing it up a bit for fashion week, it’s important to add a tiny bit of drama or statement.

What would you never wear to fashion week?
It’s hard because you can never say never. That’s what I love about fashion week. You can’t go wrong – even if you wear something a bit out there, it’s acceptable. So I’d have to say real fur.
