General Pants Co’s Pip Edwards gives us the lowdown on what you’ll be wearing this summer

The Aussie icon has branched out into swimwear

Spring has definitely sprung and that summer vibe is in the air, so it’s the perfect time to announce the exciting launch of General Pants’ first ever swimwear collection!

The team at GP and I have worked really hard with eight amazing Aussie designers to create exclusive GP ranges of swimwear that each have a different and unique aesthetic, specifically tailored to our customer.

The exclusive swimwear pieces from One Teaspoon, NLP, Insight, B.BAM, Ksubi, Evil Twin, Rollas and Anna & Boy are available from General Pants Co. stores across Australia and online at

Here at GP, we love to mix swim into our street style, making it an extension of our apparel and your wardrobe! These are some of my style tips for those warm days:

THE CROP: This is a big summer trend silhouette, and swimwear can be used in the same way. Teaming your swim top or even a one piece with your denim shorts and jeans is the go for this summer. Creating an easy transition from beach to bar, this look takes full advantage of those long hot summer days.

IN LIEU OF LINGERIE: Swimwear can also be worn as an alternative to lingerie under low slung singlets and shirts, bringing an element of the beach to wherever you are.

POP OF COLOUR: A bright pair of swimmers can add a fun print or colourful flair to a classic look. Wear them underneath your basic tees, singlets and denim shirts for a bold effect.

Our swimwear collection has a style for every girl, from the quirky mix-and-match prints from Anna & Boy and the sporty sleek neoprene of NLP to the tomboy style of Stussy.

My personal favourites are the STUSSY CJ ONE PIECE and CHECK PRINT POISON IVY 2 PIECE EVIL TWIN. I wear these two more casually pared back with boyfriend jeans – quite a typical Aussie summer look giving a nod to our inherent beach culture!
