While many would consider losing precious evening hours in front of Netflix a worthy cause, many wouldn’t say the same for losing early morning hours tossing and turning with insomnia. As an antidote, two clever (and good-humoured) Spaniards have created the ultimate Netflix rival: Napflix.

[The service] intends to render sleepless nights a distant memory by offering a video streaming service featuring only the most boring videos imaginable.

The self-titled “Siesta Video Platform” intends to render sleepless nights a distant memory by offering a video streaming service featuring only the most boring videos imaginable.

Launched in October last year by Víctor de Tena and Francesc Bonet, this Netflix spin-off is designed to inspire the opposite of binge watching. Forget Stranger Things and Orange is the New Black – the offering from Napflix is second to none when it comes to its intended audience. Insomniacs can browse such buried classics as “Swiss Chalet’s Rotisserie”, “Dishwasher” and “Royal Wedding” – a four-hour video chronicling the 1995 marriage of Spain’s Infanta Doña Elena and Don Jaime de Marichalar.

Consider it tech’s answer to counting sheep.
